DEWSBURY Reporter March 13 1937

A notable social function took place at the Victoria Hall, Town Hall, Dewsbury, on Wednesday night, when Messrs. Henry Cullingworth and Sons (Dewsbury), Ltd., rag auctioneers, entertained more than 300, representatives of the woollen rag and associated, trades, principally in theHeavy Woollen District, to dinner. The occasion was the celebration of the 70th birthiday of Mr. Henry Cullingworth, the greatly respected head of the firm. It was marked by a presentation of a portrait in oils to Mr- Cullingworth, by the buyers attending the South Street salerooms, which had been painted by Mr. John Mansbridge, artist, of London. Following the meal there was a toast list, and some.interesting speeches were made. The chair was occupied by Mr. W. E. Gundill, O.B.E., a director of the firm, and he was supported by Mr. and Mrs. Cullingwortli, the Mayor of Dews6ury (Councillor F. K. E. Parker, J.P.), and other leading citizens. THE GUESTS.
