OLD PLAYMATES TO MARRY
Mrs Van Storch, Widow, 63 and G.R.Collingworth, 65, Get Licence
Mrs Zelia S. Van Storch, widow of Harry Van Storch,
a Yonkers jeweller, obtained a license from City Clerk O’Brien in
Yonkers yesterday to marry George R. Collingworth, a mechanical
engineer, of 82 West 181st Street.
Mrs Van Storch said she was 63 years old, and Mr Collingworth said he
was two years older. He is a widower.
From Yonkers the aged couple went to the New York City Hall, where they
got another license. The wedding is to take place on Nov. 20 at the
Episcopal Church of the Intercession, Broadway and 138th
Street.
Mr Collingworth is a member of the firm of the Garvin Machine Company,
at Spring and Varick Streets, and is wealthy. Mrs Van Storch is also
wealthy, having inherited the best part of the estate of the late Bailey
Hobbs, who had adopted her as his daughter.
More than half a century ago, Mr Collingworth and Mrs Van Storch were
playmates in Yonkers. When he reached his majority he married Miss
Rockwell and Mrs Van Storch was married.
Mr Van Storch died twenty-four years ago, and Mrs Collingworth six years
ago.
A wedding reception will be held at the Overlook, the residence of Mrs
William Darling, the bridegroom’s daughter.
